For those open to critically thinking through our assumptions, worldview, and frameworks, this platform will be a place for spiritual formation, personal growth, and transformational community. Lets explore through their own discomfort and trusting God's process for overcoming difficulties.

Who is Drexel?

As I said, a follower of Jesus, father of 10, Black American, Marine Veteran (Infantry), ‘pastor,’ ‘principle,’ and habitual overcomer. My experiences and perspective provide a unique lens in which I approach family, church, the Bible, and the culture. I have not been afforded the typical lifestyle and I am thankful for it.

  • As a follower of Jesus I often have to reject the spiritual, emotional, and economical coercion from church culture, friends, and my own unrealistic expectations so I can live life more abundantly in Jesus.

  • As a father of 10, I often have to choose quality over status quo.

  • As a Black American, I live with the reality that most people see the effects of racism as a detachable idea from the past rather than a cultural phenomenon in which people are susceptible to and influenced by, much less complicit in, today.

  • As a Marine Corps veteran, I will bring a unique blend of values, no-nonsense, resiliency, mission-focus, discipline, commitment, and leadership forged from life as an infantryman.

  • As a ‘pastor’ (I prefer the term shepherd), I lead our home church, disciple our children, and desire to advance God’s Kingdom.

  • As a ‘principle,’ I am very intentional with our parenting, education, while creating and taking advantage of teachable moments.

  • As a habitual overcomer, I tend to face obstacles (internal and external) head on. I often seek out new challenges so that my mind, body, and soul are in the habit of overcoming.

Why I Write

To find others who are also living life authentically, abundantly, and in community.

I am seeking to engage in a conversation with others and help make sense of the world in which we live. The pull to conform, the traps to ensnare you in worldliness are everywhere and it will take a community to keep us sane and growing.

Blessings,

King Family
